Ben's Blog: Musings of a Grandmaster
Image courtesy Betsy DynakoWelcome to my blog! I moved to Saint Louis last week, and started working at the chess club immediately. It took me quite a while to find a city that had a worse record than the Detroit Lions, but I was able to manage! I had lived in Ann Arbor, MI, since 2002, and look forward to all Saint Louis has to offer.
My work at the chess club will consist of private lessons (call or email the Chess Club for details/pricing), a weekly lecture Thursdays from 7:00PM - 8:30PM, and hanging out at the club and playing blitz and casual chess with members. I have already played over 100 blitz and casual games at the club in 2010, and even lost a game yesterday!
I will probably play occasionally in the blitz tournaments Tuesday night, and, I expect to play Saturday, this month, January 16, in the slow tournament at the club. There will be a party Saturday, January 9, from 6PM-9PM for members of the club (CCSCSL member party), and, if your membership has lapsed (or you want to join for the first time).... come on down and join! It is the best and least expensive chess club in the World!
