Join us for this wonderful opportunity to learn the game of kings! 1998 Missouri High School Champion Ray Kurczynski takes you through the basics of the game. This four-part series will help those with very little or no previous experience understand the game of chess. These classes are at 4:30 PM Saturdays and last one hour. Topics covered include: * How the pieces move * How to checkmate * How to take notations * Basic opening principles * How to develop your pieces * Basic tactics During this wonderful series of classes, you will leave with a better understanding of the game and have the necessary foundation to play a logical game of chess from beginning to end. This class is designed for individuals with basic or no prior knowledge of chess. Upon successful completion, students will be better prepared for the Intermediate Chess Lesson series. This class is free to members and registration is not required. There is a supplemental training booklet used during instruction and available for purchase.
